In President George W. Bush’s mind, Bono is “the real deal.”
The rock star “became a pal,” Bush told his former press secretary, Dana Perino, in an interview that aired Thursday on Fox. “He was skeptical of me and frankly I was skeptical of him. And we became pals because we shared a common desire to help others on the continent of Africa. Bono’s the real deal.”The two are both champions of humanitarian efforts in Africa. Bush discussed that relationship in a wide-ranging interview that was broadcast on the same day of the dedication of his presidential library and museum.
