Bono was celebrating his birthday with family and friends in a restaurant in the exclusive Mexican neighbourhood of Polanco and he joined his fans who were waiting for him outside to share a glass of champagne.
Some members of the press brought him a cake who was given to Bono by a little girl who was outside the restaurant.
Early in the morning, fans had surprised him outside the hotel where his staying singing "Mañanitas", a local song for birthdays.
Bono, once again, shows how far he is from the diva ways of other rock stars...
