Bono in the Brazilian TV

Bono appeared on the Brazilian TV show Fantastico, where he said that he would follow Brazil and Ivory Coast in the World Cup, South Africa 2010 as Ireland was left out of the tournament.

Besides , he said the band recently recorded three new songs:

"At the end of October, we had one of the best shows of our lives in Los Angeles. We left the stage so excited that we went straight to the studio and recorded three new songs."

Brazilian interview was taped last week at the (RED)/Nike event in London. Bono also confirmed off-camera that U2 will bring the U2 360 tour to Brazil, but he didn't say when.

January edition of Q Magazine has an interesting interview to U2.

Among other things we learn that if he were not in U2 Edge would like to be in Coldplay, Adam would have liked to run the New York marathon, Larry checks if everyone has the right backstage pass ("He´s head of U2 security", teases Adam),Bono was sleeping in "the Devil´s bed" in a hotel that looks out the Brandenburg Gate ,"I´m recalling all the fights over the Brandenburg Gate _Napoleon, Adolf. There´s a lot of other megalomaniacs have slept in this bed."

Bono was interviewed by a Mexican reporter in London for the RED event. Apart from saying that RED wants to expand their help outside Africa and assumes a great colaboration in Latin America, before leaving Bono confirms the band will play in Mexico. When he was asked when, he didn´t tell or he´d have to "kill the interviewer".

Brian Eno on some songs in No Line on the Horizon

Some days ago U2.com posted a video where Brian Eno talked about some of the songs of NLOT.

"Long, drawn out confession" 'I'm here and I'm lost and I don't really know where I'm going...' That's the sense you get with Cedars of Lebanon, the last track on No Line on the Horizon, one of the great, unsung tracks from No Line on the Horizon. A 'lovely piece' says producer Brian Eno, which all started with 'a sample from a record I did with Harold Budd in 1980...'

U2:"Delighted and Humbled"

Bono has said that U2 are "delighted and humbled" to be headlining at next year's Glastonbury Festival over its 40th anniversary weekend.

The band will lead the line-up at the Somerset show on Friday 25 June.

"Everyone in the band is very excited about it," Bono told the BBC at the launch of an anti-Aids/HIV campaign.

It will be U2's first festival gig for more than 25 years and will see them make a flying visit to the UK in the middle of a North American tour.

Asked if he would use the festival to promote the campaign, Bono said: "I think it will just be about the music on that day, and that spirit that seems to take over everybody in that sacred ground."

He added: "We'll certainly be well-rehearsed, we'll be coming straight from the tour."

Red laces

Bono was in central London on Monday to launch the "Lace Up. Save Lives" campaign - a partnership between Nike and the (RED) brand, which was co-founded by the U2 frontman.

He was joined at the launch, just ahead of World Aids Day, by Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and several other international football stars.

The campaign encourages people to buy red laces to help fund AIDS medication and education programmes in Africa.

Next year's Glastonbury takes place from 25-27 June - during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

No other headliners have yet been confirmed. David Bowie has denied that he will join U2 on the bill, but it is rumoured that stadium rockers Muse could appear.

Tickets for the event sold out shortly after they went on sale last month.

RED & Nike: Lace up.Save lives

(NIKE) has joined RED in 13 countries around the world. Nike has created Nike (PRODUCT) RED laces – designed to fight AIDS in Africa. 100% of the profits go to the Global Fund and to Nike football-based programs (ie: soccer!).
(NIKE) RED launched at NIKETOWN in London with Bono and some of the world’s best footballers - Didier Drogba (Chelsea), Joe Cole (Chelsea), Andrei Arshavin (Arsenal), Marco Materazzi (Inter Milan), Denilson (Arsenal), Lucas Neill (Everton), Clint Dempsey (Fulham) and Seol Ki-Hyeon (Fulham).
RED is working with Nike to leverage the power of sport to fight HIV and AIDS in Africa. Together they’re focusing on two initiatives: Educate and Medicate. Their aim is to ensure that HIV positive people in Africa have access to the medicine they need to stay alive and to continue to build education programs through the power of sport.

The first product to be introduced are (NIKE) RED laces. The laces are specifically designed for football boots. But anyone can wear them. Bono’s been wearing them on the U2 360 tour and ‘Man of the Match’ Drogba actually wore them during yesterday’s Chelsea v. Arsenal match.
